Silver Lining.....using Cricut Graphically Speaking

Happy Friday! We made it through one more week and the weather here in Dallas is AMAZING!!!!! I forgot how nice the sun feels on my balding forehead when my sunroof is open!
Well today's card is using Cricut Graphically Speaking, A striped sheet of SEI paper from Christmas, a sheet of clouds from the SU sale-a-brations 6x6 pad, 1 12x12 sheet of red card stock, and some very shiny paper!

The card measures 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 and the outside layers are graduated by 1/4" from layer to layer. I cut the clouds from shiny silver and glimmer white paper using the clouds on Graphically Speaking. This cut is interesting as it comes off in two pcs--an outline and a center--I used the center and ran it through the Cuddlebug with Divine Swirls (a trusty go to folder). I shadowed the clouds with shiny silver paper. I used two different thicknesses of foam squares to make the clouds look like they are floating!
The inside has it's own set of surprises!

I cut the word art at 4 1/2". I (should say we as it took a village) used a computer program to place the words so they would print right where I wanted them. I used a number of pcs of paper--but the end result was worth it! I added a couple of gems for bling and Bang! Presto! Wow! You have yourself a card!

D-Lish card using Cricut Forever Young 2 versions

OK--so we are half way through the week and it has been SUPER CRAZY! Among all the craziness I have been juggling, I thought I could throw this card together and be done with a project-no issues! WRONG!!!!
My first attemp was a failure! I am talking it looks like my youngest neice (who is 6) made it in arts and crafts--It would have been the most beautiful card in the world if she had--but it was my handy work and I was not happy
Here is try one!

And here is the second time--which I really love

Funny thing is, that it took me the same amount of time to do both! I used the SU sale-abrations edge punch and some card stock I had on hand--the icecream pop paper on the front of the card was left over from one of my staffs craft moments. I rememberd I had bought these fun brads at Target years ago and they went perfect to put in the center of the flower on the inside. I used the exact same key on the cricut in different functions for this card--talk about easy!!

Baby....

Happy Monday! This weekend was jammed full of prep work for my upcoming trip to Asia for work. More on that in the coming weeks!
Today's card is super simple and very inexpensive to make! Total cost was 1.00 since I used paper I already had I only purchased these very cute chipboard sticker letters at Target--total 1.07 with tax! I love a deal.

The base color is one that is a shadow color in the printed paper as is the yellow base of the letters--I used a Fiskers punch to create the layered border. The fist layer is a blue accent, then the pattern paper is from a basic grey stack I purchased at Michael's (I used the photo mat stack) then Layered in the base color again. The card is a standard 6 1/2 by 4 1/4. Inked all the edges and called it good!

On the inside I used a strip of the patterned paper on the bottom and cut a Top Note shape from Song Bird Cricut Cartridge(cut in standard and in shadow)--here I stamped 'congratulations' in a burnt brown and added bling in the same golden color around the words, inked the edges! used my ATG gun to stick it all down. It was that simple.
Thanks for stopping in--leave those comments and let me know what you think!
